It’s been a decade since the inception of Digital Motion, a Vancouver-based music events and lifestyle brand with a strong presence on the West Coast of Canada that’s home to a healthy community of passionate music lovers and audiophiles. Over the years we have dedicated a majority of what we do to showcasing the best in forward-thinking electronic music and bass culture to our city, from budding local artists to top international special guests. We have cultivated and promoted an array of talented producers & Dj’s and are committed to the highest level of live event experiences for our customers and artists, priding ourselves for being known as tastemakers when it comes to Vancouver’s music scene.

The reputation we’ve garnered for throwing memorable shows with unmatched vibes is encapsulated by SUBculture Saturdays, our weekly bass music night where Vancouver’s dance music community shows up to get down. We firmly believe that Saturdays Are For The Subs! Giving top-notch international talent and local producers & DJs alike the opportunity to flex their heavy-hitting beats and boisterous basslines on our PK sound system from open till close. This is not your run-of-the-mill club night; we do it right—pairing our first-class production values with a welcoming atmosphere so attendees can connect through a shared passion for the scene. Our shows are known for being places where strangers become friends and these friends (our community) become family. Each week we set out to cultivate an inclusive, safe, and open-minded space where music lovers of all subgenres and walks of life can come together and dance to the freshest track selections available in an unique club environment that is hard to find elsewhere in western Canada.

Much like our SUBculture shows, we are loud about our commitment towards harm reduction, and we are proud to be a local leader in this space. In 2019 we established the SAFEculture initiative and program to provide direct harm reduction strategies to our guests by way of peer support and the promotion of consent culture at our events. Our designated and recognizable SAFEculture crew are stationed amongst the crowd at shows and are ready to help make sure everybody has the support opportunities they need to ensure a great time when they go out.

Throughout the years we’ve hosted hundreds of international major players spanning the entire spectrum of the bass music genres—from drum & bass standout acts like Andy C, Camo and Krooked, Calyx and Teebee, Delta Heavy and Goldie to dubstep greats Rusko, Virtual Riot, Downlink, Mala, Truth and from experimental bass producers like Koan Sound and LSDream to Noisia, Eprom & G Jones and other trap, half-time, bass house, and break beat talents. We’ve also produced a handful of very exciting hip hop shows with stars like Pusha T, Hospin, Twista, Royce Da 5’9”, Xzibit, Vinnie Paz to name a few. We’re also known and loved for our annual special events and distinctive event brands like Ocean Commotion boat cruise series, SUBCulture Halloween, SUBculture NYE, and most recently our Live stream series SUBculture Sessions which all reflect our commitment towards pushing the boundaries of event production to new heights and advancing the music culture we care so much about.

Going forward you can expect us to continue to elevate and advocate on behalf of rising talent and give those we work closely with a platform to promote new music releases while we continue to grow our event brands, music and merchandising in the post covid era.
